Hmm, surprised Tulsa got a vote. Maybe it was from: Todd Graham, Tulsa

What’s most surprising to me is that LSU received 3 first place votes.

I agree. I think some people vote based on last year’s results and not on how good the team is this year. Granted, LSU will be very good, but they have no business getting 3 first-place votes.

Where's the Love?
Can’t believe Michigan is 24 when they beat raining Heisman winner Tebow and #5 Florida.

Michigan is lucky to be #24. They’re in the Top 25 on reputation only, not on how good they are last year. They lost virtually every good starter they had on offense and their QB situation is terrible. They’ll win a few games because their defense should be pretty good. What they did last year in the bowl game has nothing to do with this year’s team.
Also, it’s “reigning.” Raining is what’s happening when you get wet outside.

Couldn’t be because the three guys who made that offense tick (Henne, Hart, and Jake Long) are all gone, could it? (The OL is going to be decidedly meh, Grady has a severe case of fumble-itis, and Manningham needs someone to throw the ball in his general direction if he’s going to be much help – between the true-freshman QB and weakened OL, his production is likely to drop off.)
Michigan’s not going to turn in a Notre Dame-like suckfest this year, but they’re not going to be that good. 24th seems extremely optimistic – if everything goes their way, I could see them finishing there and (if the Big Ten gets a second BCS bid – entirely possible if only because the ACC and Big East won’t, and the Pac-10 usually doesn’t) maybe sneaking into a New Year’s game, but any bad bounces or injuries, and they very well could be spending bowl season at home or within about 30 miles of it.

Don’t forget that their receivers are all gone… Manningham and Arrington are both in the NFL now.

Good point – I couldn’t remember if Manningham left early or not and assumed the worst (for everyone else). Rodriguez isn’t going to have any players to implement his offense with this year; that bodes ill against teams that like to get into shootouts (MSU and Northwestern are the prime examples in the Big Ten, partly because their defenses are usually horrific).

Yikes
Virginia got 12 points? And Groh doesn’t even vote? That’s horrible.
