What's all this +1 business?
As a playoff proponent, SMQ, can you explain why the talking heads have decided that this year above all years would have been perfect for this whole +1 game?

If anything, I think the BCS pitted the two teams that most deserved to play for the national title in said BCS national title game.  They are talking about Georgia and USC, but do they not remember jumping Oklahoma and Virginia Tech ahead of Georgia the last time they cast ballots?  With the rankings as they decided them to be, Oklahoma and Virginia Tech would have been in the four team playoff instead of either USC or Georgia.  I think the other bowl results proved how legitimate that playoff would have been.

So I beg of you?  Is it blissful ignorance?  Selective memory loss?  How do the talking heads get away with retrofitting a +1 playoff onto rankings that proved to be horribly, undeniably wrong and getting a different result than their horrible, undeniably wrong rankings?

Because...
... they want to figure out a way to give USC the title. There might be a little more to it, but that's the big reason.

Corso
Certainly that is Corso's MO. He was still talking (ignorant) smack after the game.

Look, I think USC & UGA have some room to gripe (granted, I am biased for the Dogs), but you can't just keep playing games and making up crap until you get the results you want.
Could the match ups have been better? Heck, yeah. In fact, that's what most of us were saying back when the "experts" hosed UGA, USC, Mizzou & OU, but the experts were too busy bashing UGA and others on LSU's behalf. Now that the "experts" see they are wrong, they want to change their tune instead of shouldering the blame.

I will give credit to Herbstriet & Blackledge who said the SEC was the strongest conference and since LSU won the SEC and the MNC game they are #1. It may not be the most concrete #1 ever, but they are #1.
